Taulealo 'Alo' Aukuso Ailolo Asalele
Taulealo Aukuso is a 21-year-old New Zealand-born athlete from South Auckland, now based in Melbourne. A former schoolboy rugby standout, he combines elite size (6’4”, ~145kg) with natural strength and physicality, and is now pursuing a transition to American football through structured high-performance training.

Explosive 145kg athlete driven by family, pride, and NFL ambition.
Taulealo (“Alo”) Aukuso is a powerful, high-upside athlete whose journey is grounded in family, resilience, and ambition.
Born and raised in Manurewa, South Auckland, Alo comes from a proud Samoan family and credits much of his character and work ethic to his upbringing and the influence of his grandparents. Their sacrifices continue to drive his commitment to building a better future through sport.
Alo first made his mark as a schoolboy rugby player, where his physical dominance, strength in contact and ability to impose himself on games set him apart. One of the defining moments of his early sporting journey was playing alongside his younger brother in high school — an experience that remains deeply important to him.
Standing at 6’4” and approximately 145kg, Alo possesses rare size and natural power. While he stepped away from organised sport after school due to work commitments, he has maintained a strong physical base working full-time in a physically demanding steel labouring role. This has continued to build his raw strength, durability and work ethic.
Now 21, Alo has recommitted to sport with a clear goal: to pursue American football at the highest level possible. He is currently undertaking a structured strength and conditioning program to improve his athletic performance, conditioning, and sport-specific movement, while building the technical foundation required for a transition into the game.
Alo’s athletic profile projects strongly into American football, particularly across offensive and defensive line roles, where his size, strength and contact confidence provide a strong foundation for development. His preferred style of training — strength and contact-based work — aligns naturally with the demands of line play.
Off the field, Alo is grounded, family-oriented and highly motivated by his desire to make his family proud and create opportunities not only for himself, but for young athletes coming through South Auckland. He embraces hard work, values discipline, and is fully committed to chasing his long-term ambition.
With elite natural attributes, a strong physical base, and renewed focus under structured training, Alo represents a compelling international development prospect with significant upside.
