At just 16 years old, Tara Choo is already making her mark on the national and international archery stage. Since picking up a bow in late 2019, Tara has rapidly progressed through the ranks, collecting state, national, and Oceania medals while establishing herself as a dominant force in youth recurve archery.
Despite early challenges including pandemic disruptions, illness, surgery, and injury, Tara’s resilience and relentless pursuit of excellence saw her qualify for her first major event in 2022—where, at just 13, she stepped up two age divisions and finished on the podium. That breakthrough sparked a streak of top-tier results, with standout performances at the World Archery Oceania Championships, Trans-Tasman Challenge, and National Youth Championships, often against older and more experienced competitors.
Now a member of the Archery Australia National Recurve Squad and classified by the AIS as Emerging Talent, Tara is firmly on the pathway to representing Australia at the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games. With her sights set on the 2025 World Youth Championships in Winnipeg, she continues to build an elite competitive record and grow her national profile.
Off the range, Tara embodies focus, humility, and determination. She is an exciting ambassador for youth sport and female representation in archery. With live-streamed matchplay experience, a strong social media presence, and a growing list of accolades, Tara is well-positioned for brand partnerships, ambassador roles, and campaigns aligned with performance, perseverance, and potential.
