Amy Bird
Amy Bird is a dynamic fullback who transitioned from rugby sevens to league in 2022 and quickly rose through the ranks. A 2024 Brisbane Rep Player of the Year and 2025 Australian Universities representative, she combines speed, skill, and cultural pride as she pushes toward the NRLW.

Explosive fullback with 7s speed, elite footy IQ, and a relentless drive toward the NRLW.
Amy Bird is an electric outside back whose game is built on speed, agility, and instinctive football intelligence. A natural fullback and goal-kicker, she brings a constant attacking threat while maintaining a strong defensive presence at the back.
Originally developing through rugby sevens and touch football, Amy made the switch to rugby league in 2022 — a move that has proven transformative. Since then, her rise has been rapid, highlighted by her selection for Australian Universities, Queensland Universities, and the Brisbane Poinsettias in 2025, along with being named Rugby League Brisbane Women’s Representative Player of the Year in 2024.
Amy has also developed through key Queensland pathways, including the Redcliffe Dolphins Harvey Norman U19s program, before progressing into senior football. At club level, she has represented Aspley Devils in the Premier Women’s competition and Norths Devils in the BMD Premiership, where she has already demonstrated her ability to compete at state level — averaging close to 90 running metres per game in her early appearances at fullback.
Born into a strong rugby league pedigree as the daughter of former Super League player Deon Bird, Amy combines that heritage with her own identity as a proud Wakka Wakka woman. Her connection to culture is a driving force, with ambitions to represent the Indigenous All Stars and inspire the next generation of young Indigenous athletes.
Off the field, Amy is undertaking tertiary studies aligned with education and sport, reflecting her commitment to leadership and community impact beyond the game.
With elite athleticism, representative experience, and a clear upward trajectory, Amy is firmly on the path toward the NRLW and presents as a high-upside talent for both clubs and commercial partners.
