Claire Roberts-Hickling has showcased her talent and dedication on the rugby league field, representing Northern United RLFC and Redfern All Blacks in local competitions. Known for her strong work ethic and competitive spirit, Claire continues to make her mark in the game, demonstrating skill, resilience, and a deep passion for the sport.
Her representative career highlights include competing for the Northern Rivers Titans in both the Lisa Fiola Cup and Open Women’s competitions, as well as playing in the Tarsha Gale Cup for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Claire has also made a significant impact in major tournaments, contributing to Cabbage Tree Island’s victory at the 2022 Under-17s NSW Aboriginal Koori Knockout and helping secure the 2024 Open Women’s NSW Aboriginal Koori Knockout championship.
Additional achievements include representing First Nations Indigenous at the 2022 Harmony Cup 9s and competing in the Open Women’s Brodie Pearson Memorial Rugby League 9s, further cementing her reputation as a dynamic and accomplished player.
Claire’s journey in rugby league has been shaped by strong influences, including NRLW player Shania Power, whose dedication and success have inspired her. A key motivator is the opportunity to play alongside her sisters — Taharni, Illarah, and Savannah — creating a special bond both on and off the field. Her unwavering family support drives her to pursue her goals with passion and determination.
Off the field, Claire is committed to education and personal growth. She has completed a Certificate III in Allied Health and is now undertaking a Diploma in Health Science. Away from rugby, she cherishes time with her family, especially her nieces and her dog, making the most of every opportunity to reconnect when she returns home.
