Eduardo Lopez is one of Spain’s most accomplished Rugby 7’s athletes. Standing at 1.87m and weighing 90kg, he plays as a wing and is known for his explosive speed, physicality, and elite finishing ability.
Eduardo made his international debut for Spain in May 2019 at the London Sevens and quickly established himself as a key figure in the national Rugby 7’s squad. Over the next six seasons, he became one of Spain’s most capped players, earning 180 appearances, scoring 64 tries, and accumulating 320 points.
A standout moment in his career came in 2023, when Eduardo was named to the HSBC Dream Team at the prestigious Hong Kong Sevens tournament—recognized as one of the top seven players of the event. His performance was instrumental in Spain achieving its best finish of the season and climbing to 11th in the world rankings.
Building on that momentum, Eduardo continued to deliver consistent performances throughout the 2024/2025 season, helping Spain reach a historic top-three global ranking in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Eduardo’s journey is driven by a dream: to play professional rugby in Australia. In 2025, he will relocate to Australia with a desire to join the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, marking his transition from Rugby 7’s to Rugby 15’s. This move aligns with his long-term goal of representing Spain at the 2028 LA Olympics, where he aims to bring his international experience and athletic prowess to the global stage.
