Biography

Killian James-Toon is an emerging front rower known for his physical presence, leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement. Originally from Rockhampton, Killian developed through the Fitzroy Sharks system, regularly playing above his age group and taking on leadership roles early in his career.

His junior career is highlighted by a series of team successes and representative experiences, including multiple school premierships where he served as captain, and consistent selection in regional and pathway competitions such as the Paul Bowman Challenge, Gordon Tallis Cup, and Laurie Spina Shield.

After relocating to South East Queensland, Killian joined the Redcliffe Dolphins system, continuing his upward trajectory. He earned Best & Fairest honours at U15 level, Most Improved at U16, and played key roles in teams that secured both minor and major premierships. His selection in development programs, including Cyril Connell Cup and Mal Meninga preseason squads, reflects his standing as a high-potential forward.

In 2026, Killian reached a significant milestone with selection in the Queensland Murri representative side, while continuing his development in senior pathways with Brighton Roosters U21s and Redcliffe State High’s open program.

Off the field, Killian is a Year 12 student with ambitions to study law at university. He is a disciplined athlete who values hard training—particularly fitness work—and draws inspiration from NRL star Payne Haas for his professionalism and family values. Away from rugby league, Killian enjoys reading, creative writing, and spending time with friends and family.

With clear goals of earning selection in the Mal Meninga Cup and progressing to the NRL, Killian combines physical ability with character, leadership, and a strong mindset, positioning him as a promising young forward to watch.
