Tough, high-work-rate middle forward with leadership qualities and a proven pathway through representative and senior football.
AJ El-Ters is a disciplined and driven middle forward who has built his rugby league career through consistent progression across representative and senior football environments.
He developed through the St George Dragons Development and Pathways system from Under 14s through to Under 18s, building a strong technical and physical foundation. During this time, AJ also represented the Lebanese Cedars across Under 18s, Under 20s and Open levels, demonstrating his ability to perform in representative environments against experienced opposition.
AJ continued his development with Kingsgrove Colts, where he played a key role in a Grand Final campaign in 2023. His performances that season earned him the Under 18s Gold Best & Fairest, along with Male International Player of the Year honours, highlighting both his consistency and impact.
He made the transition into senior football at just 17 years of age in the Sydney Shield, where he has continued to develop against experienced opposition. Now playing with Glebe, AJ has further established himself as a reliable and physical middle forward, bringing toughness, consistency and effort through the middle each week.
In 2025, AJ’s progression was recognised with a train-and-trial opportunity with the Canterbury Bulldogs Jersey Flegg squad, where he featured in a trial match against the Wests Tigers.
More recently, AJ earned selection in the Australian Universities Rugby League team after representing New South Wales at interstate level — another strong endorsement of his continued development and performance.
Standing at 183cm and 93kg, AJ is a versatile forward capable of playing lock, front row or second row. His game is built on defensive intensity, strong leg drive and a high work rate, combined with strong coachability and professionalism.
Off the field, AJ holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, supporting a disciplined and high-performance approach to training and preparation.
