Sky-Yvette Faimalie is a rising star in Australian rugby union, already making her mark at the professional level. At just 18, she’s earned a contract with the Queensland Reds, becoming one of the youngest players in the Super W system — a testament to her elite potential, physicality, and relentless work ethic.
Her 2024 season was a breakthrough year. After standout performances for the Brisbane Tigers Under-17s and selection in the Queensland City side, Sky went on to test herself in senior competition with the Sunnybank Dragons in the StoreLocal Premier Women’s league — consistently holding her own against experienced front-rowers and proving her readiness for top-tier rugby.
Sky’s leadership is just as impressive as her performance. As captain of the Ipswich SHS Open Girls team, she plays 70-minute games with composure, consistency, and a team-firstmindset. Her presence on the field is matched by her humility and drive to improve — qualities that have earned her the respect of coaches, teammates, and selectors alike.
Inspired by All Blacks legend Ardie Savea and mentored by Super W scrumhalf Ana Afuie, Sky is constantly refining her craft, bringing professionalism and purpose to everything she does. With strong cultural roots and a clear vision for her future, she’s not only chasing success — she’s setting the standard for young athletes coming through the system.
With Super W rugby already underway and national honours firmly in her sights, Sky-Yvette Faimalie is building serious momentum in 2025.
